About us.

We put our client’s interests above all else.

Cedar Asset Management has been established with an unflinching belief that high-quality wealth management needs two things: complete transparency and a strong alignment between client and adviser.

As a private advisory, Cedar can put client interests above all else. And we do. We have our own Accredited Financial Services licence (number 503883) and full control over how we provide and execute advice.

Not being tied to any one firm allows us to choose the very best service providers, giving clients a highly tailored service and access to a wide range of investment opportunities and resources.

If we recommend it, we’re buying it ourselves.

Cedar adheres to a co-investment strategy. That means clients can feel confident that we’re personally invested in the same investment strategies and recommendations that we advise.

Charlie Munger sums this up perfectly, “A really responsible system is the system the Romans used when they built an arch. The guy who created the arch stood under it as the scaffolding was removed. It’s like packing your own parachute.”

If we recommend it, we’re buying it ourselves;.

Cedar adheres to a
co-investment strategy.

We believe in Intelligent Diversification.

Every investment portfolio needs some diversification, however, as Warren Buffett said, “Wide diversification is only required when investors do not understand what they’re doing.”

At Cedar, we practice Intelligent Diversification, a process that decreases risk profiles with an optimum number of investments while still allowing for strong returns.

The reason most large managed funds underperform their benchmark index is because they’re forced to own between 50 and 60 individual positions, some funds up to 100.

Checklists are firmly integrated into our process.

Every investment we recommend is carefully considered. We use specific checklists for each investment category, tailored to the type of opportunity, to rigorously determine whether an investment idea is of high-quality. A well-refined checklist, executed consistently, will always improve the quality of decision-making.

Once again Charlie Munger sums this up perfectly, “No wise pilot, no matter how great his talent and experience, fails to use his checklist.”
